The hotel is in a great spot, right across from the beach, and the view is lovely. But the rooms are tiny, and both the bed and pillows are really uncomfortable. The bathroom is small too. The towels smell strange, and some are stained. There are these little flies on the shower ceiling, which makes me think it isn't cleaned properly. Service was pretty poor as well. Some of the cleaners were rude when I asked for another towel, and the elevators get packed in the morning and sometimes stop working. The breakfast buffet is small, crowded, and doesn't have many choices. Dinner through room service was bad: the food took ages even when nobody else was there, and the servers seemed lost. The bar staff weren't helpful either. One day I even saw a woman there eating nuts straight from the container with her bare hands, though those were meant for customers. I wouldn't recommend staying longer than two days. For a quick trip, go at your own risk.

The staff were so friendly and polite, especially Dannille at the breakfast buffet, Paola serving at the restaurant, Lais at the front desk, and Flavia from housekeeping. Our room was spacious and had a lovely oceanfront view, and the breakfast was amazing. Regency Barra Hotel is right across from Barra da Tijuca beach at Posto 7, with restaurants, supermarkets, and bars nearby. It matched my expectations completely, and I really recommend it to anyone staying by the beach.

The room didn't have hand soap. I asked for some, but it never arrived. I was also surprised they charged for the bottled water in the room. In a city where tap water isn't very drinkable, I expected the hotel to provide drinking water for free. The biggest issue, though, was cleanliness. During our four-night stay, it seemed like housekeeping only made the bed. They never cleaned the bathroom or floors. The hotel is well located in Barra da Tijuca, with a beautiful sea view right across from the beach. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the stay was good value for money.

I had a confirmed booking, but when we arrived, they told us there were no rooms left. The receptionist on duty, Marcio, was rude and unhelpful. He didn't even check his computer or look at my confirmation email. I wouldn't bother with this hotel. I'd book somewhere else.

The rooms are good, and the beach location is perfect. Breakfast was good too, and the service was okay, nothing bad. The elevator situation is a mess, though. I got stuck two or three times, and the toilet door doesn't have a lock.
