South American Copacabana Hotel

Very disappointed. After staying three nights and four days, our room was cleaned only once, and that took several requests at reception. On the last morning, an employee at the breakfast buffet treated us disrespectfully. Then at noon, checkout time, we were practically kicked out without any advance notice, even though we'd been told we could stay until Saturday. We had nowhere to go, had to rush to pack, and lost the day we'd made plans for. I'll never come back.

I was only in Rio for a few hours, but they took me in even though they didn't have to. I arrived early, and they made sure I had everything I needed. Great location and service, and an amazing hotel. Definitely recommend, 10/10!

The room was good, with a spacious bathroom and hot water with enough pressure. There's a small in-room security box, but it was basically unusable. The elevator was unpredictable, sometimes quick, sometimes it took forever. The location is good for both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, and the service was good too. The free breakfast was ordinary, though the daily menu changed a little. The orange juice was good; the other juice changed each day but was always bland. There were several kinds of fruit, bread, desserts, hot food, and cereal, though the food was just okay overall.

We found several bed bugs when we lay down to sleep, and the rooms were disgusting. This hotel has bed bugs. It's cheap for a reason, don't stay here.
