The staff were kind, and the location is convenient, but the room was in very poor shape and needs maintenance. With some updates, this place could be much better. The room is falling apart. Nothing seems to have been repaired or updated, including the furniture, plumbing and general standards. It’s run down and barely clean, with broken lights, a toilet that won’t flush, doors that don’t close, and too few pillows. The walls are paper thin, and the windows don’t seal, so every dog bark will keep you awake. Breakfast made instant noodles seem gourmet. The whole place badly needs a makeover. If three stars on Google means a back-alley dumpster, then sure, three stars. For a hotel, I’d give it half a star, generously.

The location is great, with the beach and lots of nice restaurants and bars nearby. The staff were dedicated and happy to help whenever needed. The hotel doesn’t quite match its online photos anymore, though, and the bathrooms in particular could use some refurbishment.

Right on Porto da Barra Beach, the hotel is perfectly located. The suite was spacious, breakfast was good, and the price was fair. Staff were friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again.

Hit Hotel is a typical Brazilian three-star place, with adequate rather than luxurious rooms. The internet worked well, and the café da manhã was one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had in this class. I also managed to connect my Google Chromecast to the wall-mounted LCD TV, which can sometimes be tricky in Brazil, and watch my favorite programs from the U.S. The staff were friendly and helpful. When I checked in, they helped me up the steep stairs to reception and promptly handled requests during my stay. The manager was especially nice, putting together a fruit and yogurt breakfast for our departure morning because our early flight meant we’d be checking out before the café da manhã service began. The location is fabulous, in the Barra neighborhood, with bustling Avenida Sete (7) de Setembro in front, the beach across the road, and Todos Os Santos Bay on the horizon. I stayed during Salvador Carnaval 2019. The hotel is right by the start of most blocos on the Barra-Ondina (Dodô) circuit and a short walk from the Campo Grande (Osmar) traditional circuit.

The hotel had good Wi-Fi, a comfortable bed, clean sheets, towels and bathroom, plus a good breakfast and very friendly staff. If the location works for you, you should have what you need here. It’s near the main promenade and where the Carnival parade starts, but not close to the main attractions. We came for Carnival, and the parade began just minutes away. We bought access to a viewing area called CAMAROCE, one of many spots above the street where the parade goes, with standing space like a football stadium. Make sure your hotel is close to the one you choose. Ours was at the very end, so we had to walk with the parade for two hours to reach it. It was very expensive, though that was probably because of Carnival. For more about Carnival, Salvador, Brazil and South America travel, see our blog THEKCOUPLE.
