Hotel Fênix

I liked my two-night stay, and R$125 a night seemed reasonable. The staff were absolutely pleasant, the Wi-Fi was stable, and the linens and towels were provided and clean. The room was large and had air conditioning, a window facing the street (the inner courtyard), a table, chairs, and a closet. There weren’t many electrical outlets, though. Soap and toilet paper were supplied, but no shampoo. The bathroom was spacious, the shower stall wasn’t cramped, and the water was hot with normal pressure. It’s heated at the shower head. The bed wasn’t comfortable: it wasn’t very long and had a soft, thin mattress. Soundproofing was poor, though that seems to be the case at all budget hotels. The hotel is well located, easy to reach from the airport, and within walking distance of the city center. Two good shopping centers nearby have places to eat, but they’re closed on Sundays. There’s also a supermarket at the station. Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. and is served in your room. You can order food from the menu at other times too. Everything was delicious, and the prices were similar to a cafe; the lunch in one of my photos was about 40 reais.

Getting a snack at the pool bar took more than an hour. The staff seemed unwilling to work, rude, and lazy. The whole experience was awful, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It was good overall, but the place could be better. There were mosquitoes, and after I sprayed insecticide I only found one dead cockroach. The air conditioners sounded like rockets, really loud.

It's really just the basics, a place to sleep instead of being out on the street. The sheets were clean, at least, but the hotel wasn't very good quality. There was no room service when I visited, and no elevator.
