Getting around is straightforward, with easy bus links to the airport and the Metro at Centro Salvador. The beach is lovely and only a few steps from the pousada. Our accommodation was clean and cozy, and the owners were friendly and easy to reach. If you haven't been there before, I recommend it; the owner can help arrange transportation if you need it.

We had several problems during our stay. The fan didn't work, and the Wi-Fi was very unreliable. We changed rooms to get a working fan and ended up using our own mobile data modem. The location is very good, and the kitchenette has what you need for a short stay, but the units have little natural ventilation and need better temperature control. After the owner's response: I find it troubling that the establishment chose to disclose private guest information, which is illegal in our country, instead of simply taking the criticism on board and improving its service. My health has nothing to do with the problems I described. A 220V fan in a city with 110V electricity is already an unacceptable failure. As for the dog, it's our companion dog and travels with us regardless of its size. They could simply have declined to accept us. After the owner's response, I definitely don't recommend this establishment.

Patricia provided excellent service. The apartment has plenty of space: an entry area with a sofa, a large bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, a bathroom, kitchenette, and street-facing windows. A wooden shelf separates the bedroom from the entry, and there are shelves and hangers for clothes. The kitchen could use a few more items. The beach is about two blocks away, though the sea gets very rough at high tide, so you can't even get your feet wet. To reach the apartment, you have to climb a narrow, almost spiral staircase. Some maintenance is needed, since the bathroom faucet leaked when turned on. The internet works for phones but isn't strong enough for online work or the TV. There's a supermarket four or five blocks away. About ten blocks away, Pao e Vinho serves breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. You pick what you want and pay by the kilo, around 90 reais per kilo, and everything is delicious. There are also places for an early lunch or dinner, including a great pastry shop next to the Fatima church. A plaza with a children's playground is in that area.

Mr. Jorge was waiting at the entrance gate when I arrived, even though it was the middle of the night. From the time I landed, he had made himself available to help me get from the airport to the kitchenette. The hosts' care for their guests is hard to find elsewhere, and Mr. Jorge also gave me great tips on places to eat and sights to see. There's still a lot I want to explore, so I'll be back soon. The kitchenette has everything needed for a longer stay. The Wi-Fi was great, and I could work there without any trouble. I recommend it without hesitation.
