Hotel Solare

Great.

The room was clean and well kept, with a window facing an inner courtyard, good air conditioning, and a good shower. There was a slight musty smell in the bathroom and a little in the room, but the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is near the city center, with lots of places to eat nearby, and breakfast was good. Great value for one night. I'd stay again.

The reception guys were polite, but this was a terrible stay. When we got to the room, the pillowcases were dirty and had hair on them. They did move us to another room when we asked, but everything was still very dirty. Hygiene was zero. The sheets were yellowed and kept coming off the bed, and the pillows were old and dirty. The bathroom was just as bad. The toilet was loose and about to fall over, the sink was broken, and water ran onto the floor. It was filthy, and it looked like the shower stall had never been cleaned. The bedroom window was open and wouldn't lock, so we had to wedge part of a clothes hanger into it to secure it. Breakfast had very few options too. The papaya looked rotten and seemed to be from the day before, sliced into rounds. The cooks didn't have hairnets or proper uniforms for preparing food. The stay was very expensive for what they offer. That was the worst experience I've had. We'll never come back, and I absolutely don't recommend it!

The breakfast was acceptable and fair for the price, and the hotel was comfortable for travelers like us. We spent one night there on the way back from Brazil. We went through immigration very early because it gets crowded, and Uruguayan customs moves very slowly. Thanks so much for the hospitality.
