Fantastic.
We stayed six days in a double room. The area around the hotel is beautiful, with some of the best beaches for swimming. The staff were excellent, welcoming and attentive, and gave us the tourist information we needed. Lima, the afternoon receptionist, and the woman who made breakfast deserve a special mention. The breakfast tasted great, though there wasn't a lot of variety. Room cleaning was good too: the room was kept tidy and our towels were changed. There are several things to consider about the rooms. The mattresses were uncomfortable, so I wouldn't recommend staying here if you have back problems or need comfort while sleeping. The air conditioner was undersized and didn't cool enough. It was an old window unit set into a large opening in the wall, and it was extremely noisy, mostly just blowing air. If you sleep lightly or have rhinitis or sinusitis, I'd avoid the place. If you won't use the AC much, it may be fine. The tap water sometimes came out dark. We were told this was due to interruptions in the area's water supply. The electric shower also had a current leak, and touching its control gave us a shock. For someone who mainly wants a place to spend the nights away from busy centers, it can be a good option, but I wouldn't recommend it if you want comfort and more facilities.
The staff were all very kind and polite, and the breakfast was really good, even though there wasn't much variety. The food was well prepared. But the room smelled unbearably of mold, and from outside we could see mold covering the walls of all the rooms. It didn't even look clean when we arrived. We planned to stay six nights, but the smell was so strong that we stayed just one and spent the rest of our time at nearby places.
The hotel's location is excellent. The beach across from it is great for swimming and has good facilities, and Colher de Pau Coroa Vermelha, one of the best beach huts in Porto Seguro, is just a few meters away. Our room wasn't good. Even after being renovated, it looked old, had no curtains, and the bathroom smelled bad and wasn't great. The beds were old and uncomfortable, and there was no outlet near the mirror for a hair dryer. I asked reception for an extension cord, but they couldn't provide one, so I had to buy one myself. Breakfast was poor, the fruit seemed a bit past its best, and they even ran out of cheese. They say reception is open 24 hours, but whenever we came back late, the receptionist was asleep and didn't notice us coming in.
The location is great: just cross the avenue and you're at the beach. Staff were excellent, the pool was clean and lovely, and breakfast was simple but good quality. They served two kinds of juice, coffee, milk, chocolate milk, ham, cheese, French bread, two kinds of cake, pie, scrambled eggs, and cheese bread. The water supply stopped at some point every day during my four-day stay, and the tap water came out muddy. Aside from that, the hotel is very good. The Google location is wrong, the hotel is farther ahead on the left.
