Alter Villa Suítes

Luciano was helpful and available throughout. I needed to add one night at the start and extend by another night later. The inn had no room for one of those changes, but he arranged another place for us himself and even picked us up there. He also gave us tips about Alter, tours and agencies, and even supplied headache medicine, haha. The inn is very close to the center, an easy walking distance for outings, Ilha do Amor and restaurants. That matters in Alter, since staying farther away can mean a long walk or paying $30 per taxi ride. One thing to keep in mind about all the inns in Alter and the tours: breakfast starts at 8, while tours leave at 9. That leaves just an hour to eat, use the bathroom since you may be out all day, and get everything else organized. It would be more comfortable and help avoid tour delays if agencies worked with the inns to start breakfast earlier, around 7 or 7:30.

The inn is comfortable, breakfast is delicious, and it’s close to Alter’s town center. The real highlight, though, was how warmly we were treated. Luciano and Romélia, the owners, were welcoming and helpful from our first contact, and Gil greeted us each day with a smile and the best tapioca. And I have to mention the best hug in Pará, from Maria, who also hosts guests.

Luciano, the owner, was friendly, polite, attentive and very welcoming. The inn is well placed near the beach and shops, and you can walk to the village center, beach, shops and church without needing a car. Our room was airy, clean and organized, with air conditioning and a TV. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh juice, fruit, tapioca, cake, bread and local jam. I recommend staying here.

Luciano and his wife were welcoming and polite, and shared plenty of recommendations and stories about Alter. The location, cleanliness and breakfast were all good. Even arranging things over WhatsApp was great. We’ll be back for sure and stay at Vila Suítes again.
