Pousada Cabocla

The location made it easy to get to the beaches, including ilha do amor and praia do cajueiro. The bus station and a good restaurant are on the same block, and a short walk down brings you to Ilha do Amor, the best-known beach on the Rio Tapajós. The place was very cozy, with excellent breakfast, spotless cleaning, and service that gets a ten out of ten. Everything was lovely.

Really good place, though the double bed has springs and I personally didn’t find it that comfortable. The breakfast, though, was divine, high quality and delicious. If I can afford it one day, I’d hire the kitchen staff to make my breakfast every day, haha.

We could walk everywhere in central Alter from this very well located inn, and even coming back late at night felt completely safe. The rooms have air conditioning, which is essential in that heat. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and the staff were very good. When we reported that our shower had burned out, they dealt with it the same day. There were some real downsides for us. They’re expanding to add rooms, even though the basic facilities need work. Our room had a lot of damp and mold, and my sinusitis flared up every day. The shower was burned out and pointed at the wall when we got the room, so after our outing we couldn’t take a proper shower on the first day, which was frustrating. Room cleaning happened at random, with no set day or time, and during the three days we received service, they changed the towels only once. The location is VERY good, but several things need improvement.

Great location and a lovely place to stay, with a wonderful breakfast. Best of all, they’re pet friendly! 😍❤️🐶
