Pousada Recanto Aconchego

I bought a voucher on 27/12 for three nights at Pousada Recanto Aconchego, from 22/01 to 25/01/2016. On 09/01/16, 13 days before the trip, I called and spoke with Thiago Melo. I explained that my father had suffered a stroke and wanted to cancel. He suggested I call back to reschedule once things had settled down. Three months passed, and sadly my father died. A few days later, I contacted the inn hoping to get some rest and use the voucher I’d paid for. Anderson told me there was no availability, even though it was low season. That seemed odd, so I called the next day and spoke with Diana. She was surprised by what Anderson had said because there were openings on all the dates I suggested. In other words, they didn’t seem willing to host me, despite having rooms available. Diana said she’d call the next day, but more than 10 days have gone by and I still haven’t heard back. It’s upsetting. I contacted Groupon’s customer service to ask for help and let them know about the inn’s questionable conduct. My complaint was filed on 19/04, number 4385391, but I still haven’t received a response from them either. I’m extremely disappointed with the service from Pousada Recanto do Aconchego and Groupon’s customer service. I want my money back. I have everything documented, including all my conversations with the inn.

It’s an affordable place right in the town center, with a good location. Just keep your expectations modest about the rooms, which are very simple.

Good value and only about 300 meters from the center. The place is simple but does the job. Breakfast was a highlight, with excellent cakes made fresh.

This really is a low-budget inn. It’s fine for sleeping and breakfast is included, but don’t expect much beyond that.
