The breakfast was so limited that it felt like whoever got there first would get whatever little food was available. The room had no cupboards, no windows, and no ventilation, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. I spent just one day there and don't plan to return. The owner treated us very poorly, and from arrival through checkout, it was obvious the people in charge were uncomfortable with us being there. I was with a friend, and we had several unpleasant experiences during our stay. This isn't a hostel, hotel, or Airbnb. It's a makeshift place without the proper setup for tourists. The city itself is really beautiful, but I left with a bad impression of the accommodation and no wish to go back there. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

The rooms were clean, with no cockroaches, rats, or mosquitoes, and the smell was pleasant apart from the kitchen, which smelled moldy. But the rooms have no windows and ventilation is poor. It's a makeshift place, not an Airbnb, hostel, or hotel. The breakfast was very weak, and the place isn't set up to provide even a decent one. You can sleep here, but it feels uncomfortable, like the city. It just lacks care. That's the best way to put it: uncomfortable and uncared for.

The staff were such nice people and always ready to help, and getting around was easy with good transport access and several nice things nearby. I loved staying at Grand Hostel in São Cristóvão. It was really peaceful and clean, with a great vibe. It was a great choice, I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it!
