Hostel Casa de Avany

Paula, who takes care of the house, is lovely, and everything was consistently very clean. The place itself is beautiful, welcoming, and well maintained, with fast Wi-Fi, air conditioning, hot showers, a fully equipped kitchen, filtered drinking water, and very pleasant common areas. The beds are hard, but the pillows are very good. The bedroom door has a key, though there's no lock on the inside, so security feels lacking. Reinaldo, the owner, is friendly. His wife, though, came across as quite unsociable and rude. My stay was disappointing because the service fell short. I didn't get a proper check-in or the basic information I needed. In Brazil, accommodation staff have usually told me about local events and places to see. Here in Cachoeira, nobody mentioned the gospel festival or the free cinema right across the street, which would've been useful. I'd rate the accommodation and facilities over 10/10, but the poor service brings my rating down to 3/5.

A wonderful place, very clean, with impeccable service. Nearby there's a lovely spot to eat delicious food, Villa gourmet casa da Avany. Well worth checking out.

The restaurant is fantastic, with divine food and lots of delicious choices. A perfect 10.

It's a good, historic place. I was just unlucky enough to get a room without air conditioning.
