Avant Hotel Executivo

We paid 290 reais for a room with two beds for two people, and it felt like paying a good hotel’s price for budget-level accommodation. We’ve stayed at over 60 hotels in the last six months, so I have some experience to base this opinion on. There was no minibar, which we’d never encountered at that price. The TV barely picked up any channels, and the toilet paper was the cheapest quality I’ve seen, even at low-cost hotels. Breakfast was no better, with stale, hard cakes and powdered orange drink like Tang. Compared with other places, this was a terrible stay and definitely not worth the money.

We ended up going to Tri hotel instead, where the service was great. At check-in, we were told our room was on the third floor and that we’d have to use the stairs. My wife was recovering from a fracture, so I explained that climbing them made no sense for us. There’s no elevator, and when I asked for a room on the first floor, they refused and suggested we cancel and stay somewhere else. I’d booked for a couple for 21/11/2025. I filed a complaint and cancellation request with Decolar, but 72 hours later they told us Avant Hotel had denied the refund, claiming they’d offered a room on a lower floor. That wasn’t true. The service was awful, and the person responsible showed a real lack of character. A very upsetting situation.

The breakfast was delicious, and the service was a 10/10. I also really liked the room, especially the street-facing window, air conditioning, and nice bathroom with a hot shower. Such a beautiful place. I highly recommend it!

My stay was frustrating, and I didn’t have a good experience. The building is old and needs renovation, and the rooms don’t have minibars. I also ran into a problem with the room I’d booked. The receptionist tried, but didn’t seem concerned about finding a solution. Anyway, I won’t be back.
