Hotel Giordano Mantiqueira

The biggest issue here is how much noise carries through the hotel. You can hear what’s going on outside and in the room above, and the door slams because its mechanism won’t let you close it quietly. On Saturday at 6 a.m., the guest upstairs made enough noise to wake me, my husband, and our daughter. I complained at the front desk. The staff member said he’d speak to the guest, who was staying another night, and said he’d ask the manager about moving us since only rooms in another category were available. I saw him talk to her, but she never came to speak with me and seemed annoyed whenever I passed the desk. The next morning, the same guest woke us with noise again. The room itself was a good size, with a comfortable, generously sized bed and an empty minibar. The bathroom was small, though the water pressure and temperature were good. There’s a pool and lounge area. Breakfast was fine but had little variety, and it was hard to get Pao de Queijo. The hotel is good in those ways, but the noise really spoiled the stay.
