Manezinho's Palace Hotel

Awful place, like a room from Chernobyl. The bathroom was filthy, with mucus and hair in the sink. The old shower enclosure was rusty, and turning on the shower flooded the whole bathroom. The bathroom, walls, and floor were greasy and dirty. The room walls were peeling and moldy. The sheets were dirty, stained, and had holes, and the pillows had huge yellow stains of unknown origin. I slept in two hoodies because I couldn’t bring myself to use the blanket. I skipped breakfast because of the overall condition. The stairs and hallways were completely dark. It’s at a traffic-light intersection, with noise all night, so sleeping was impossible. Judging by the same complaints in reviews from over five years ago, the owner doesn’t seem to care about these poor conditions.

The room was clean and hygienic, and the price was in line with other places. It’s centrally located, near snack bars, a gas station, bars, and restaurants. The downside was that some guests smoked in their rooms despite the hotel rules, making the air unpleasant.

It’s a bit expensive for the rooms, though still quite affordable compared with other places.

I knew it was a simple place, but I didn’t expect it to be dirty. The bathroom was greasy, there were fecal stains in the bathroom trash, and there were marks on the walls. The air conditioner couldn’t be turned on because it had so much dust, like it had never been cleaned, and shower water leaked all over the bathroom. I understand it’s meant to be budget accommodation, but the lack of hygiene is unacceptable.
