I’ve never had a worse stay on any trip. When we arrived around 4 p.m. on January 4, 2026, we were told that the rooms we’d reserved four months earlier weren’t clean and that we’d have to wait 40 minutes. I complained that they should have been ready by then. We went out to eat, and nearly two hours later we returned to find a tour group of about 30 people at the inn. They got their keys right away, but when we asked for our rooms, the receptionist said they still weren’t ready. Unbelievable. We spoke with the manager, who told us to wait by the pool. After we complained repeatedly, he checked the system himself and made the rooms available. It seemed like they simply didn’t want to help us. They said the inn had been sold and the new management was having problems. The employees seemed lost, and the service was poor. Breakfast was well below expectations, with few choices, and we had to beg to get our rooms cleaned. There was only one TV channel, Globo. When we checked out, the receptionist said our reservation payment was still outstanding. I asked her to check the system because we’d paid in full, and they only stopped asking for payment after we showed the receipts. What a terrible stay.
