Guará Hostel

The host was really kind, and the location is handy for the historical center, restaurants, and mini markets. Our room had AC, which you really need in Sao Luis.

The rooms were dirty and in bad shape, the water was cold, and wifi didn’t work. The owner also tried to charge more than the agreed price. Stay away!

I stayed from 19 to 21/08/23 and had a wonderful experience. Lilian, who owns the place, was attentive and easy to reach, and Cris at reception was very courteous. From booking through checkout, Lilian treated me with warmth and professionalism. The hostel felt welcoming from the start. It was clean and organized, the common areas were cozy and nicely decorated, and the shared kitchen was always clean and well equipped. Breakfast was served generously. Its location in the heart of the historic center made it easy to visit the main sights and enjoy the nightlife.

The breakfast is wonderful, and the whole place is decorated beautifully, with a peaceful feel that makes it seem like home. The kitchen stays clean and tidy, and the beds are comfortable. It’s a very clean hostel with a lovely energy, and my stays have always been flawless. Lília and her whole team provide an unusually high level of care and service. Fernando is especially kind and always ready to help. Since my first visit to Guará Hostel, I haven’t been able to stay anywhere else. Everything feels perfect. Congrats on running such a warm, welcoming place!
