Hotel Santos Dumont Aeroporto SLZ

Breakfast was good, with the usual things you’d expect. The hotel is clean and straightforward, right by the airport, so it works well for a layover or a stop on the way to lencois. I’d recommend it for either.

For a quick overnight before heading to Barreirinhas, this was convenient. We landed in São Luis at 2:30am and left the next morning. It’s about a five-minute drive from the airport, though the surrounding streets felt a bit sketchy. We got an Uber for around R $15 reals, which was very cheap, and the front desk was staffed all night, so arriving around 3am was no problem. There’s also a fridge at reception where you can buy water and sodas. It’s an average budget hotel, with nothing special about it. The room and linens were basic, the pillows were a little small, and the bathroom had only a small bar of soap for the sink, with no other toiletries or hand towels. We had two shower towels. The newer A/C worked perfectly, and there was a TV and a mini fridge for drinks. We didn’t eat breakfast, but I think it cost about R$ 30 reals extra. The restaurant area looked nice and spacious. I’d stay here if I just needed a place for one night before moving on.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It could use a few touches, but it’s a good spot for a night near the airport.

Everything worked out fine for our one-night stay before an early airport trip. For the price, it was especially good.
