ibis Sao Luis

Breakfast was the best part of our stay. We chose Ibis because we trusted the chain’s usual standard, but the service was poor. They sent me a message to check in online, then asked me to provide all the information again in person. Check-in was meant to begin at noon, but we waited until 13:00 for the room to be ready. The room was terrible, and the whole floor smelled of mold. Both needed urgent renovation.

The room had a slippery floor, the bathroom door wouldn’t shut, and the beds were more uncomfortable than any I can remember. We were first given the wrong room type, and the corridor smelled bad too. A very disappointing stay, below what I’d expect from an accord hotel. I know ibis isn’t the same everywhere.

Avoid ibis kitchen for lunch or dinner. We waited 1:30 minute for a burger, and it was the worst one I’ve had in my entire 30 years.

At the IBIS hotel São Luís, I had the worst hotel room I’ve encountered in my 58 years. I know hotels well, and I’m usually very resilient about poor quality. The bathroom walls and sink were covered in slime, the floor was sticky, and the bed was terrible. The pillows looked about 50 years old. The bathroom door was as dirty as one in a typical roadside restaurant in the Northestern of Brazil. The towels looked like floor cloths, perhaps because they’d been used as such, and were so thin they were almost transparent. A shame for the network.
