We were tired when we arrived, and asked reception for the check-in date so we wouldn't have to dig our phones out of our bags. They gave us the date as one day earlier than it actually was, then charged us for an extra day. We showed proof of the real arrival date, but they wouldn't change their position. Check the date carefully when you check in. Sad.

The location is good, and the WiFi was okay. Breakfast was nice too. The property itself seems to be falling apart, though. The washroom doors don't work, and there were ants throughout the rooms.

It's close to the center, fairly cheap, and set in a large old mansion. It could be a great place in São Luis, but the staff were unpleasant. The rooms got warm unless we used a very noisy fan, the kitchen was small, and breakfast was barely anything. Too bad.

Stay away from this hostel for your own safety. I allege that the owners' son came into the girls' room at night offering “massages” and putting a strange bottle under their noses. Please let people know.

Great location, friendly staff, and reception is open 24 hours. The rooms were okay and breakfast was good. Also, there's a beautiful cat.
