The worst stay of my life. Amarante looked nothing like the published photos, and I’ve stayed in simple places before, but never anywhere so neglected and run down. The first apartment had broken things, awful paint, and a clay sink that wasn’t treated for hygiene and collected water. It was disgusting. Breakfast was poor, the cutlery and dishes didn’t match, and there were so many ants. I moved rooms because nobody should have to stay beside an apartment under renovation, but the next one was just as bad. At night, rats ran around in the false ceiling. Tense! There was also a lot of maintenance needed. The TV channels didn’t work for all four days, apparently because they hadn’t renewed the Sky package, even though I complained on the first day. Luckily, in one of the apartments I could mirror my phone to watch the news or a movie. On the third day, construction workers woke me at 7:00 a.m. while working on the apartment next door. If they knew about the work, why put me there? The pousada had very few guests.

What made our stay at Pousada Amarante Praia especially memorable was the warmth of the owner and her wonderful team. Their care and attention felt heartfelt, and we were treated so thoughtfully throughout our visit that we felt truly welcomed and special. The experience exceeded our expectations. The location made it easy to get where we needed to go, the breakfast was delicious, and our suite was incredibly comfortable, with care evident in the details. We’re deeply grateful for such a fantastic stay. Everyone deserves congratulations for the kindness and attention they gave us. Thank you so much.

The room, number 11, could use hooks or other places to hang clothes, both in the bedroom and bathroom. Aside from that, the staff were very attentive, and this is a lovely place to spend the afternoon by the pool, in a hammock, or resting in one of the seats. Breakfast runs from 7 to 9 and has lots of tasty choices, all made with care. The staff always check whether everything is good or if you need anything. You can walk to Cardeiro beach without transport. I recommend Bar e Restaurante Sheik there.

From the moment we arrived in São Miguel do gostoso, we were treated with a level of care we honestly hadn’t expected, including at the pool and breakfast. Maybe we were used to the more mechanical service at other pousadas, so this really stood out. Congratulations, keep it up. We’ll be back soon. I’m in Dublin, Ireland now, but I’ve already recommended you to friends going to Brazil. Kisses to everyone.

Great pousada and a really good stay. Dona and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simple but delicious, the room was spacious, and the location is convenient, right at the entrance to town on the main road.
