The location is really good, but you need to be young and easygoing to put up with this place. It feels more like a fraternity than a hostel, and São Paulo has better hostels to offer, thank God. People smoke in rooms next to yours, and the whole place smells like stale cigarettes. They leave cigarettes in some sort of bucket of water, which makes the smell even weirder. The noise was another problem: people talked right outside my door for up to three hours late at night. If you’re doing business in São Paulo, or you’re older and out of patience, I’d choose another hostel. If you’re young, short on money, and have time to put up with it, maybe give it a try.

Those extra long beds were a real blessing for me as a two-meter-tall traveler. I don’t usually write reviews, but 3Dogs Hostel in Sao Paolo deserves a mention. It’s set up for convenience, with clean spaces, friendly staff, and prices that aren’t high. It’s in a really nice area right by the metro, and there’s a good mix of locals and travelers. I feel lucky to have found this lovely startup. It made a great stop on my onward travels, a little hidden gem.

I’d choose this location over its sister on Ave. Paulista. It’s a little farther away, but much quieter and feels safer if you want to go out at night.

The rooms are lovely and the staff are great, and overall it’s very good value for the money. Just be aware the walls are so thin you can hear conversations from the next room, and the bathroom could use some improvement.

The owner is Dutch, and breakfast is nice. It’s a cozy place with a pleasant patio where it’s easy to meet people.
