The room was quiet and spacious, with a lovely view of São Paulo, and the interiors are beautifully designed. The location is ideal, the gym has everything, and the pool is a nice place to unwind. Breakfast, though, was in the bar, even though the website said it would be in the restaurant. It felt crowded and chaotic. Only when I brought it up at checkout did they say the restaurant was being renovated, which felt a little deceitful since nobody had mentioned it before. Service was OK, but could have been more attentive. There’s visible wear around the hotel, including chipped paint on corners and doorknobs. It could use some care, and with new competition in town, the current price is hard to justify.

The room was spacious, and they left fresh fruit for us every day. I also loved the breakfast choices and the pool area, which felt private and had views over Sao Paulo. At the gym, the instructor who worked with kids welcomed me with a big smile and was very sweet. One breakfast server was especially kind, offered alternatives from the menu, and checked on us often. I wish I could remember his name, he was tall with dark hair, and gave me the best service of my stay. Checkout was the one rough patch. I sat waiting for quite a while, over 35 minutes, without knowing anyone was processing it. When I finally checked with the woman at the desk, she said everything was done and I could leave. She was polite, but I hadn’t known she was working on it. Still, it was a great stay.

Breakfast on the terrace was my favorite part, and the staff were all friendly and professional. It’s a peaceful, upscale hotel, though the general feel is quite dark. The standard rooms seemed small, while the deluxe room was spacious, with a window in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, the blackout curtains worked well, and the hairdryer was good. The gym was very nice. The two elevators are slow, so leave extra time. If you arrive early, there’s a clean, pleasant shower in the small spa restroom you can use. The sauna is on the indoor pool floor, is unisex, and requires a bathing suit. It’d be nice to catch the sunset from the pool someday. The room water was provided, but I was surprised that each coffee pod in the room cost 10 reais ($2). Costa Brazil products are nice, with a unisex scent that leans woodsy and masculine. For a business trip I enjoyed the stay. I found it about 20% overpriced, though with few premium options in São Paulo, it’s a nice choice if you want somewhere quiet and within walking distance of good spots in Jardins. For personal travel, I’m not sure it’s worth the price.
