H4 Hotel Opera Jardins

I stay in hotels about 10 days a month for work, and this is the first time I've written a review. Most of the staff were great, but one person at the front desk on the night shift ruined the experience for me. I don't know his name. He was rude and the opposite of friendly service. The reservation was in my name, but at check-in they put the room under my mother's name, even though we both showed our IDs and I was the one who signed. When a package arrived for me, they couldn't find my name. After I pointed out their mistake, the staff member raised his voice and said company policy doesn't allow packages without a room number. I can understand an internal rule or misunderstanding, but I can't tolerate rudeness and a lack of empathy.

The rooms were OK and serviced, with everything necessary, and the location was great. Staff were friendly. The elevators are very slow, and the gym is sparsely equipped, though it does have equipment for training all the extremities.

The staff were very polite and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean, and the hotel is in a good, safe part of town. But there was an overbooking problem. I had called the night before to make sure they wouldn't give away my room, yet when I arrived they made me wait until around noon to get in. I'd already taken my bags up to the room, but not being able to shower and then go get breakfast was a real inconvenience. The toilets could be secured better, too, since they wobble.

The room was quite nice, but the water kept dripping in both the shower and the kitchen. A bit annoying.
