I was here for almost two weeks. The room was cleaned every day, so the hostel was clean, and the price was low. It's near the “pedro II” metro station. The area didn't feel that safe to me, so I came back early. It was also quite noisy, both from cars outside and from other people staying here. The staff don't speak English, and I didn't see any foreign tourists at the hostel.

I spent 10 days here in February 2026, and it was a nightmare. The rooms are in poor condition, and the staff were the biggest problem. They repeatedly tried to shortchange me on currency exchanges from USD to BRL. The rate was already bad, then they tried to give me less change than we'd agreed. When I caught them, they acted as if that was normal. It felt dishonest and unprofessional. The hostel sits on a busy street, so the noise made it impossible to sleep. They say they have cameras and security, but I never felt safe. After the staff's behavior, I slept with one eye open, constantly worried about my belongings. They seem to think travelers won't notice their tricks, but I caught them each time. Save your money and find somewhere else in Brazil. That doesn't mean all hotels there are bad. On the contrary, there are beautiful places, charming hotels, and honest staff who work to make guests comfortable. Brazil is a beautiful country, but a hotel like this shouldn't exist there.

I went to São Paulo for a ballroom dance congress called DESEO CONGRESS BACHATA, and Hostel Aprisco was one of the lodging options suggested by the event. Its location was perfect for getting to the event. The service was excellent from my first phone call with the owner, Ruthe, and seu Edgar was wonderful too. The host, Luis, was welcoming, happy to chat, and shared tips about how things work around sampa. I stayed in a shared room with bunk beds. Everything was organized, and there was a fan, an electric shower, a mini fridge, and electronic security at the hostel. I enjoyed the experience and really recommend staying at Aprisco hostel. Thanks to everyone for the kind service. I hope to come back soon, and next time I'll bring Açaí do Pará.

The owners welcomed me and treated me so well. I had an incredible time at this wonderful place and will definitely come back again!
