Hotel Quintino

I picked this hotel for the location and stayed just one night. The first room didn’t look very clean, including the towels, and wires above the shower started sparking when I tried to use it. I refused to risk an electric shock, so staff moved me to another room. That shower looked better, though still not completely right to me. After spending the night, I realized the small cabinet for things like a watch, phone, or wallet could be opened from the corridor. The room wasn’t private, and someone could easily take your belongings even with the door locked. Completely unacceptable. I also tried to leave this feedback on Booking.com, where I booked, but they cancelled the morning of checkout after I’d paid, so I can’t post it now.

Getting dinner nearby is hard after 8 PM because the restaurants around the hotel are closed. There was a menu in the room for the hotel restaurant, but I didn’t try it. The room itself is tiny and awkward to walk around in. There’s no clothes rail, just a very small wall cupboard, plus a plastic wall hanger in the bathroom. The location works well, with Sé Metro station close by and a bus stop right outside. Uber and 99 taxis are available too. The room and bathroom were very clean, quiet, and had all the bathroom items I needed, including soap, toothpaste, a toothbrush, shampoo, and disposable shower caps. Breakfast was good, and for the price it felt like good value. There’s free coffee and paid cold drinks at reception. The staff were good in general. I was a bit disappointed by the night receptionist, who seemed sleepy and didn’t give the level of service I’d expect. The woman on the day shift was really friendly and nice.

The young staff made this place work so smoothly, and they were all so pleasant. Nilvanélia, Ricardo, William, Letícia, and one other person whose name I didn’t get, thanks! The people really do make the place. There were some nice extras too. The free sandals are still getting used, and the drinks in the fridge made for a great start to the night. I loved the console that controlled the TV, air conditioning, lights, and radio. Breakfast was nice as well. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m back in Brasil.

We left happy with our stay. It’s a clean, safe hotel where families can stay, and breakfast is good. The central location is right by Metropolitan Cathedral in the heart of Sao Paulo. There were ants everywhere, though, the sheets could have been cleaner, and nobody could speak English.
