The location is really nice, and the rooms are spacious, but I had bad luck with a stain or something dripping onto my arm, urgh. Breakfast was weak. We had to ask for eggs, the “pao de queijo” wasn’t actually pão de queijo, and the cake was supermarket-bought. Three stars, no more.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Jardins is a beautiful neighborhood that feels relatively safe, with lots of restaurant options. The hotel is well located, just a few minutes from Avenida Paulista and Consolação Metro. Breakfast was acceptable, but could be better, and there are no free options for people with dietary restrictions. The WiFi was the main drawback: weak at times and poor during busy hours, so it won’t work well if you need to work. I was told they’d upgrade it soon. That’s why I’m not giving five stars.

The renovated room and bathroom are clean and nice, with a spacious toilet area and a great walk-in wardrobe. But the lobby staff don’t speak English, and when I paid $20 toward a $4.50 bill, they couldn’t give the right change. At checkout, hotel staff also couldn’t move the bill hold from one credit card to another. For the price they charge, that service is unacceptable.

The rooms were pretty good for staying in when I visited around April 2023, though the beds felt different from those at Melia and some other hotels in the city. Laundry isn’t done in the building. The hotel works with a nearby company, and you may have to pay to have clothes washed and dried. The morning coffee and hot water service at the downstairs cafe was a big disappointment. There had been countless complaints about the management running it. In the lobby, though, there’s a beverage machine with free coffee that was much better than the cafe’s. Plastic shot glasses were provided, in a decent quantity. Espresso and hot chocolate were also available, but you had to download an app to pay for those.
