OYO Hotel San Remo, São Paulo

The room gets cold, so it needs a heater. Bring a mini electric heater and a space blanket to keep warm, since the blankets should be heavier too. There should also be wastebaskets, a dresser and hangers for clothes, plus a clothes rack. The food could be better, with more organic and non-GMO options.

There was no parking lot, and they tried not to refund my cancelled reservation. They eventually promised to refund it, but I'm still waiting. Horrible.

Chic.

The service was poor. When I arrived to check in, the receptionist had headphones on and her feet up against the wall; she didn't even seem like a hotel employee. The room had outside noise, a sheet with a hole, and some disgusting marks on the walls. The bathroom smelled like sewage, and the sink drain was clogged with mothballs. When I booked, someone said there was private parking beside the hotel. On arrival, the staff didn't know where it was and didn't even try to help, just told me to leave the car on the street because nobody would touch it. In 20 years of traveling and staying in hotels, this was the worst one.
