If you’re going to the Sambadrome and just need somewhere practical to stay, this works well, especially for Carnival. It’s not a place for comfort, though. The shower and bathroom sink really need fixing.

The photos on Booking and the other apps are nothing like the place I found. It felt like an improvised tenement, the staff seemed unprepared, and the hotel was nowhere near clean enough. When I arrived to check in, there was a big mix-up over my reservation. They blamed a new employee for confusing it with someone else’s booking, and eventually sorted it out. The room was filthy. A rotten table was falling apart, with a note saying not to put luggage or anything heavy on it. There was nowhere else for our bags, so they had to go on the floor. In the bathroom, the toilet was clogged, packed with toilet paper, and smelled strongly of chlorine. I asked to move rooms. Since there were three of us, they moved us into two double rooms. One reeked of sewage so badly we couldn’t stay in it, and the other was just as dirty as the first room. We didn’t want another argument, so we decided to sleep and complain the next day. In the morning, they told us to leave our bags in a kitchen and go back to the first room. When I asked if the toilet had been fixed, the morning employee, who had been asleep face down on a table, got up and said no. We had to return whether it was fixed or not because other guests were about to use the temporary rooms. Then she bent back down to sleep before I’d even finished speaking. I went out for breakfast because I couldn’t bring myself to eat there. I came back set on leaving. The same employee was asleep face down again. I woke her and said I was checking out. She said that was fine, there was nothing she could do, and all the rooms smelled bad anyway. She said it as though guests leaving was normal. Hours later, they returned only part of my money and still charged us for the first night. The place felt more like a landfill than a hotel. Honestly, stay away from this awful choice, for your peace of mind and your nose!

For an overnight stay, it works well. My room had a decent bed and an electric shower, but no window. The old window-style air conditioner was really noisy. I’d give the hotel a 3 because it needs renovation. If you just need somewhere to sleep for a night, it’s a good option. I recommend it.

The street is deserted, so you end up relying on ride-hailing cars, and the location isn’t great. The pictures give a false impression of the hotel. The bathroom was moldy, the bedding was old, and the pillows were awful. I don’t think the nightly price is worth it. I arrived around 7 p.m. and asked a staff member when I had to leave. She said I could stay until 24 hours later, or 7 p.m. the next day. But another employee later told me checkout was at noon, and I had to pay extra.

I booked a quick stay at Hotel Vintage in São Paulo for Saturday, 12/07/2025. We just wanted to leave the car somewhere safe, change clothes, go to a friend’s birthday party four minutes away, then come back to sleep. That plan fell apart. We arrived around 8:45 p.m. The room looked poorly maintained, and the inside of the toilet was dirty. I was willing to accept that it was a very basic, budget hotel. I wasn’t planning to post a complaint or ask for money back over that. I took a photo of the toilet and meant to mention it kindly to reception so they could take care of it. About half an hour after we arrived, we got an urgent call. We had left our house in Paulínia, an hour and 40 minutes away, open, and a neighbor had noticed. We had to leave the hotel immediately, miss the party, and drive back. I explained what happened politely and asked for at least a partial refund since we hadn’t used the night. I made clear this was a real emergency, not a complaint about the hotel. They said there could be no partial or full refund because, as they put it, “no hotel in SP refunds a stay in progress.” They also claimed their system showed we checked out Sunday at 11:50 a.m. We actually left Saturday night. I have photos, screenshots, call records, and other evidence. After I politely ended the conversation, the hotel messaged to say one of its partners supposedly did business with my partner’s company. Her company’s CNPJ was on the payment receipt because we used her business debit card. Suddenly the hotel was polite, offered to help, and said the partner would contact the company. Nobody ever followed up. We don’t know who this partner is or what business they supposedly had, and that isn’t the point. What shocked us was how selective and elitist the response felt. When I was just an ordinary customer, they ignored me and treated me badly. As soon as they saw a CNPJ and a possible business connection, their attitude changed. It left me feeling that if you don’t seem important, your problem doesn’t matter. That’s deeply troubling, unethical, and discriminatory. We didn’t use the stay and left because of a legitimate emergency. The records support what happened. All I wanted was basic respect and common sense. Instead, I got indifference, followed by better treatment that seemed to depend on the name on the receipt. Neglect, abuse, and prejudice. Never again. Don’t stay here. Note: I covered the company name in the screenshots to keep it private.
