The rooms on the second and third floors are good and have a view, but the first-floor rooms smell bad. For directions, don’t rely on Waze or Google Maps because they’re wrong. Ask how to get to Praia do Sudoeste, then follow the signs to the pousada.

I stayed at Cave do Sol this weekend, and it was a really upsetting experience. We lost power during both days of our stay, and the hotel has no generator. When the electricity came back, one phase still had a problem, so we were left without air conditioning. There wasn’t even a fan in the room as a backup. We had a 5-year-old with us. At 3 a.m., the child woke up crying from the heat and all the mosquitoes. Since the hotel offered no solution, we ended up sleeping in the car with the air conditioning running just to get some relief. I know unexpected problems happen, but a hotel that hosts families should have at least a basic backup plan for situations like this, especially in a hot region. What should have been a restful weekend turned into a frustrating ordeal. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and safety, especially families with children.

The staff are attentive, and the hotel has a wonderful lagoon view, a heated pool, a sauna, and a volleyball area. Breakfast was tasty, too, though serving it from 08h feels late to me.
