Pousada Colibri Serrano

We had such a lovely weekend at this cozy, peaceful inn, with a really good energy. The breakfast was wonderful, and they made us feel so welcome. We’ll definitely come back!

The breakfast was good, but that was about the only bright spot. We’d paid for four days and left the day after arriving, using the time after breakfast to find another hotel. The place simply wasn’t worth the nightly rate. Getting there was very difficult because of a steep climb. Our tiny chalet barely fit two people, the bathroom was cramped, and the ceiling fan didn’t work. The floor fan they provided couldn’t cool the room. We went in October during extreme heat, and it was impossible to stay inside. Opening the door and window brought in a terrible smell, like sewage. We were told there was a pigsty next to the inn, and the stench was overwhelming. There was only someone on site during the day, until 5 p.m. After that we were alone, with no room service or responsible staff member to contact in an emergency. The pool was tiny and dirty, the pool area was messy, and chairs were stacked on top of a sofa. The parking area was too small for the number of rooms. If I’d known what a bad deal this was, I wouldn’t have gone at all. It wasn’t worth it.

The staff were attentive, and breakfast was great. It’s very peaceful, about a 10-minute walk from the center.

The Lumiar vibe made this special little place well worth it. There’s nature all around and such a peaceful atmosphere, plus a breakfast that feels like a hug. The service was really friendly, and the inn has loads of charm. We definitely want to return!
