Pousada Praiamar

The shared areas looked neglected: the pool was visibly dirty, and the broken jacuzzi had standing water in it, which seemed like a health concern because it could encourage mosquitoes that spread dengue. The room had damp stains on the wall, and management said this happened often during heavy rain and they hadn't been able to repaint it. We also found improvised wiring running past the bathroom window. During showers, the room's breaker kept tripping. There were lots of mosquitoes and a strong mold smell when we entered; we partly managed the mosquitoes because we had insecticide in the car. My girlfriend and I had chosen Pousada PraiaMar after looking closely at its website photos, which gave us high expectations. We were exhausted from the trip, so we didn't take in the condition of the inn right away. We checked in and paid in advance, then noticed the problems as soon as we got the key and went into the room. The stay was very frustrating, and we have no plans to return, even for free. I hope the owners take these issues seriously so other guests don't go through the same thing.

The breakfast was delicious and generous, and the team were always helpful and attentive. The location worked really well, close to the beach and important spots. Pousada Praiamar was clean, cozy, and well organized. I had a wonderful stay and would happily come back. I'd recommend it to anyone after comfort, peace, and good service.

We were left on our own at the inn overnight. The very attentive and helpful employee said goodbye and went home, then came back at 8 the next morning, so there was no staff around if we needed support. The pool was green, and we didn't risk swimming. The hydro tub, which looked lovely with colored lights on Instagram, was filthy and unusable. In one of the newer rooms, exposed power cables ran outside the conduits, including one across the shower stall, which made showering feel pretty threatening. In my room, the door looked as if it had been broken into, with pieces missing around the handle, and it could only be shut with a suitcase padlock. I stayed one night with three other couples. Two couples got older rooms that didn't match the Instagram pictures and had no mini-fridge or air conditioning. The place has potential and a great location, but it needs more investment and some processes reviewed, including how the better rooms are assigned.

My family of 10, including two children, had booked and paid for a weekend, but when we arrived they had no reservation for us. We were left outside with nowhere to go. After a lot of arguing and confusion, nothing got sorted out. The owner wasn't there, and there was only one employee. The owner didn't refund us or show any concern. They made the mistake and said there was nothing they could do. It was deeply disrespectful to us as customers. I absolutely don't recommend this place. Terrible.
