Pousada Farol de Saquarema

This was my second stay, and I’d happily recommend it as a great place to relax. It feels cozy and discreet, without signs out front, and the Farol theme shows up in little decorative pieces around the property. The owners were a highlight, always helpful and ready with tips for outings and places to eat. We had a family room with a double bed, two single beds, and a balcony facing the sea. There was a hammock on the balcony, where we could watch the tides from a unique angle and listen to the lovely sound of the water. The sheets and towels were clean but a bit worn, and the only little extra was soap. Breakfast ran from 8:30 to 10 a.m.; it wasn’t very varied, perhaps because of the number of guests, but there was plenty to eat. We were given a copy of the front door key, so we could come and go freely from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. There’s free parking on the neighboring property. The owners’ warmth really made us feel at home.

We felt right at home in this family friendly pousada. D. Sandra and Sr. Luiz gave us wonderful service, and the place was exceptionally clean, with thoughtful touches in every corner. Breakfast was generous, fresh, and offered a huge variety. We’ll stay here whenever we come back.

A lovely place, with a beautiful view of the sea right in front. The owners are friendly and around if you need them. The sheets and towels were clean, the room and bathroom were spotless, and there was air conditioning and a ceiling fan.

I had a very bad experience here. Sandra, the owner of the pousada, wasn't friendly at all and tried to keep guests inside the place after 5 p.m. The pousada itself has very poor facilities. I don't recommend it, and I believe the lower-rated reviews are fake.
