Hotel Vitoria

Pretty good.

We booked six rooms for our rally team and ran into problems in most of them. The air conditioners dripped onto the beds, and the water came out dark when we showered. There’s no parking and no hot shower either. It was a terrible experience, and I don’t plan to return.

It’s in a central spot, close to lots of tourist places, and I really liked staying here. There’s parking in the square next door, watched 24 hours a day. I recommend it.

We kept choosing this hotel for its central location and price, and I think we stayed on at least six different dates. But every visit brought problems, so I can’t recommend it. There were lots of mosquitoes in the rooms, even the luxury room. Some sheets had what looked like blood stains, and the mosquitoes made for exhausting nights, especially when we had to drive the next day. We started bringing insect spray for future stays. The bathroom drains were clogged in some rooms. Water backed up while showering, and the smell was really unpleasant. Air conditioners also dripped water or ice into the rooms, sometimes right over the beds. When we raised these issues, it turned into an argument with the reception staff. They said mosquitoes were a problem throughout the city, but that didn’t match what we saw at other places, where there are ways to keep them out. I think feedback should reach management, though the staff may not have a way to contact the people responsible for the hotel. There’s a notice by reception about a health inspection, but given all these repeat problems, we still can’t recommend staying here.
