Hotel Araruna

For 200 reais a night, I don’t think this hotel offers an experience that matches the price, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The bathroom walls were dirty and had cobwebs, the bed was awful and left my back aching, and the air conditioner barely worked and didn’t cool the room. Service was terrible. It also felt unsafe at night: there are no walls at the entrance, and the reception is empty from late afternoon through the evening. Breakfast was very basic for the nightly rate. The place feels neglected and the facilities are poor.

It felt like a prison. The room was dirty, the bathroom was terribly old and poorly maintained, and the fridge didn’t work and smelled musty. There was a 14-inch tube TV with just one channel. Breakfast was fit for a detention center, and the 240 reais nightly rate for three people was terrible value. The only thing I could say for the place was the window, which let me see outside. And if you’re wondering about the Wi-Fi, get ready!!!

I paid R$ 100 a night. It only takes cash, and booking directly with them is cheaper than using Booking. The hotel is large and right in central Soure, on Travessa 14. My room, number 1, was big, with a TV and minibar. The shower was cold, but in the heat I didn’t really miss hot water. The air conditioner was noisy but worked. Everything is old and very basic, though it’ll do if you’re not fussy. The place feels like a huge grandma’s house. Breakfast included two kinds of fruit, fresh bread, natural juice, coffee with milk, Marajoara cheese, mozzarella and butter. One night, two cockroaches showed up in the bathroom. Reception was closed and there wasn’t anyone around, but I found the phone number on Google and called. The manager came to help. I don’t recommend it.

The bathroom was in terrible shape, and the shower only dripped. The TV was small and old, the minibar was rusty, breakfast was awful, and the service wasn’t welcoming.
