There's a beautiful garden, and the pousada is right in the center, which is an excellent location. It's fine if all you need is a place to sleep. Just be aware there's no air conditioning or fan.

The team did a good job helping with the minibar problem, and their effort to respond to guests' needs was clear. The minibar in our room wasn't working, but their solutions eased the issue. The room was very spacious, as was the breakfast kitchen area, and there's a large, decorated lawn garden that's great for sitting in the sun. Breakfast was excellent, the hot shower worked well, and the whole team's service was satisfactory. The location is excellent for walking to the historic center, and it was generally possible to park safely right outside. The room had no wardrobe, and the doors and windows needed minor maintenance, but those things didn't spoil the stay for me.

The pousada itself is charming and simple, with great breakfast and a perfect location. But our arrival was a really upsetting experience. My boyfriend and I had booked and paid in advance, and had told them exactly when we'd arrive. The manager "Lucas" said he'd meet us. When we got there exhausted, the entrance was open but nobody was around. We waited more than 2h and called the pousada over 40 times before he showed up, saying he'd "accidentally passed out"! The neglect was unbelievable. It seems like the place may have been well run in the past, but after what happened with "Lucas," we'll look for somewhere else next time.

There was no window in the room, and its door opened onto the breakfast area, so it was very noisy.
