The only thing I can say in its favor is the location. Another hotel kindly called ahead and recommended the place, but when I arrived they quoted 595 reais, then offered to bring it down to 398. I wanted to see the room before deciding if it could be worth 595. I wouldn't have paid even 150 reais for it. It smelled damp and the hotel seemed to be falling apart. They still wanted me to stay because of the discount. I arrived at night, and honestly, I disliked the place completely. I would've kept traveling all night if I had to.

The restaurant service was very good, with quality home-style food, well prepared, a clean, simple setting, and excellent attention. The rooms, though, are very basic, and the old part of the hotel was hard to stay in. Check that the website and Booking photos match the room you book. The central location was good, but the value for money felt high. We stayed one day before continuing our trip.
