Casa do Arvoredo - casa com serviços

We were about 12 people, and the large, comfortable house fit us all. Upstairs, two bedrooms have a double bed, private bathroom, and an extra bed. There are more bedrooms downstairs, with two on each side sharing a bathroom. The open kitchen sits in the central area, which keeps things cool in hot weather. The pool looked bigger in the photos; it was medium-sized and enjoyable, but we couldn't all fit in at once. The house is a bit far from central Trancoso, and, as with much of the city, you reach it by a dirt road. A great house to rent!

I loved Casa Arvoredo when I stayed there this September. It's in a great location near the Quadrado, reachable on foot or by car, and I found the dirt road easy enough. It's in a gated community with other houses set apart. We were 11 and loved the spacious, airy bedrooms and all the areas of the house. The welcome, cleaning, and breakfast were great. We bought the groceries and the staff member prepared breakfast for us. Since the house is in the forest, we did see some animals. My only suggestion is to move the barbecue, which is tucked away in a dark spot, so we couldn't use it. Apart from that, 10 out of 10. I loved it and recommend it!

We loved this charming house and would gladly come back. The kitchen and living room are integrated and nestled in nature, and the bedrooms and bathrooms look out onto greenery. The decor is rustic, simple, and tasteful, and the hosts were kind and very helpful.

Such a disappointing place. The access road was awful, full of holes, and it was far from even a simple bakery. The beds were horrible, and the blankets, pillow, and bedspread were dirty. I was lucky I'd brought a sheet. The single beds were tiny. The only good thing was how polite the women and the maintenance and cleaning man were. Everything else was a letdown.
