The guesthouse itself is beautiful, with tasteful, authentic decor, and the breakfast was delicious. The apple cake is famous with both villagers and guests. Julia and Andre were the kindest hosts, so friendly, polite, and accommodating that we felt like part of their family. The whole place is surrounded by lush jungle and colorful little animals. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, depending on your pace, though the birds, plants, hummingbirds, and rare monkeys will keep distracting you for photos. During a village-wide blackout one evening, they brought us candles right away and checked that we had everything we needed. Thank you, Andre and Julia. The rooms were spacious, cool, and comfortable, and the inn is close to the beach, set among the Atlantic Forest, which helps keep the temperature down. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful, with fresh fruit, cakes, pies, bread, cheese, cold cuts, eggs, and omelets. Picinguaba beach is lovely, peaceful, and inviting, with beautiful views. I had wonderful days there with my family and friends at Casa Amaargi. Just keep in mind that the stairs may be difficult for small children and older people. André and his family are excellent hosts. We’ll definitely be back!

Núcleo Picinguaba is one of the best spots in Ubatuba, with nearby paradisiacal places and plenty of adventure. Casa Amaargi is a great place to stay. André welcomed us warmly and shared lots of tips. It’s a fantastic place if you want some peace, relaxation, and a chance to recharge. We’ll definitely return!
