Hostel 7 praias

We stayed at this hostel with a group and a guide before doing the Seven Beaches trail. The first impression was awful: the host suddenly appeared from behind a kitchen cabinet and startled us, then didn't even come upstairs to show us the rooms. He was neither kind nor attentive. Knowing he could access the rooms left us feeling unsafe and without privacy. We were left without gas, which disrupted breakfast, and he took the fan from our room before we had left. The guy was completely clueless. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

The place itself wasn't ugly, but the upkeep was terrible: the kitchen had no dishes and the toilets were broken. The owner, Denis, barely paid us any attention and left us without gas. He claimed we'd used up a whole cylinder in the three hours we'd been there and refused to replace it. We had to borrow gas from a neighbor to cook the meals we had planned to make there. I felt completely unsafe, scared, and angry. Denis has no business hosting tourists. I don't recommend it.

The location is very good, and the rooms were really clean. A few simple additions, like TVs in the rooms and a microwave in the kitchen, would make the stay much better. It was satisfactory overall, but those easy improvements could help a lot.

I volunteered at this hostel, so I got to see how much the hosts, Sol and Denis, work to make guests comfortable. They keep everything clean and organized every day, and the place is well cared for, near the beach, and great for resting. I met good people there who really try to make your stay lovely and make you want to return. Staying here was wonderful, one of my prettiest experiences. Don't leave without trying the homemade cake and bread. They're the most delicious in Ubatuba! 😊💜
