Pousada Seachegue

The breakfast was sparse and poorly made, and the mattresses were so uncomfortable that we couldn’t rest. Cockroaches were gathered in the lovely shared patio shown in one of the photos. The umbrellas and lounge chairs they provide are in awful shape, and the facilities look badly built and short on the maintenance they need. If they aren’t going to maintain the place and invest in tourists, they shouldn’t charge for things they don’t provide. The price should be brought down to something reasonable for the condition of the pousada.

There were cockroaches in the room, which is completely unacceptable in any lodging and a serious hygiene issue. The mattresses were in terrible shape, old, hard, and looking rotten, so we couldn’t get proper rest. Basic equipment was missing, and the facilities seemed poorly built and badly maintained, with little or no upkeep. The place wasn’t fit to host guests and didn’t match what the photos and description promised. I don’t recommend it. The pousada needs urgent improvements, structural maintenance, and basic standards of cleanliness and comfort before welcoming tourists again.

The air conditioner dripped onto the bed all night, leaving it wet and keeping us awake with the constant sound. The rooms also felt unpleasantly damp, and cockroaches appeared as evening came. There were exposed wires in the bathroom, dirty sheets, and the umbrellas and chairs were in poor condition. We couldn’t use the grill, which was a first for me after all my years vacationing in Brazil. We’d requested it, and the owner didn’t refuse, even though it was included in the service we booked. When we asked to move to a better room, the way we were treated was appalling. The service was terrible.

We rented the place based on photos the owner sent, but they weren’t recent. After paying for ten nights, we left after the first. On arrival, the sewage and nauseating smell made me think rubber boots and a face mask were in order. The grill in the photo was only for show and couldn’t be used. The table had just three legs, and the dry chairs seemed dangerous enough to put anyone sitting on them at risk. Cockroaches were everywhere, and very well fed, Hulk-sized ones. The sheets were stained and had holes, and their elastic was gone, so they just lay draped over the bed. The mattress was barely thicker than a razor blade. Breakfast, or whatever we were given early that morning, was shared with the owner, who served it shirtless and barefoot. Maybe someone who wakes up cheerful could enjoy that. Sorry for the irony, but it’s how I’m trying to turn the page on that day at Pousada Seachegue. Folks, this is not Brazil. Thank you.
