There’s lots of free parking, including room for trucks and long vehicles, and the hotel is one block from the main highway, which makes reaching the city easy. Breakfast was great, but other meals cost extra and were frozen or microwave prepared. The rooms are large, with a small fridge, TV, and phone, though they’re very dark with just one weak light. The bathroom was adequate and had a hot shower. Accessibility is difficult: check-in isn’t wheelchair accessible, most rooms are hard to reach, and there’s no elevator. The front desk speaks only Portuguese. Bed choices are double or twin, with no queen or king. Basic, maybe one or two stars, and nothing here reminded us of Italy.

The lack of sound insulation really spoils the stay. Some other guests were poorly behaved, talking loudly for hours and disturbing people nearby, though I don’t blame the hotel for their manners. I’ve stayed here a few times, and the quality keeps getting worse. The room used to be clean, but on my last visit it had mold and a foul smell. The coffee is always awful, like charcoal mixed into hot water.

The breakfast is incredible, and the shower is awesome. The room itself is okay. The patio could use more grass, since right now it looks like a big parking lot.

We enjoyed the shared area, with its barbecue spot and simple pool, which they cleaned after we asked. For the price, the hotel covers the basics, but the room service wasn’t good: two light bulbs were out, and nobody replaced them even after we requested it. Three stars.

The breakfast was good, the price was fair, and the staff were attentive. The rooms weren’t fully clean, though, and the pool was very dirty.
