The place feels like a secluded hideaway, which is great if you want to keep away from people. There’s plenty of room, and the kitchenette was fully stocked. The pool is a good size, with two hot tubs and a tennis court too. A friendly parrot says hello when he spots you, lol. The room smelled a little dusty at first, maybe because it had been closed up for a while, and the outside looks like it’s from another era.

The ocean view is beautiful, and everyone was pleasant and welcoming. My family and I met a lovely family right away, and they were great. There isn’t much to do on the island, sadly, but I’d still come back.

The pool looks beautiful at night, but this old resort badly needs renovation. It’s far too moldy. I wanted to sleep, but couldn’t and had to leave. If you want locals to enjoy a special getaway here, please put some work into the place.

We still keep in touch with people we met there decades ago. We owned a timeshare at the resort in the 80s and 90s, and always looked forward to going. Things change, and Grand Bahama has been battered by bad weather and a lack of visitors. It’s so sad.

As a local, I’m concerned about how neglected the Bahama parrot there seems to be. When I visited, he was trying to get out, and there was no clean water or food. The water was full of mosquitoes, and he looked like he hadn’t been groomed in a long time. He’s on a floor with rusting metal too. Is there a way I can help him?
