Island Seas Resort

The resort is run down, and noise from anyone staying in the unit above carries into the rooms. The pool water was very cold, and the hot tub wasn’t heated. The pool bar was hardly ever staffed.

I’ve been an Owner since 1999 and visited Island Seas Resort this month, December 13, 2025 - December 20, 2025. It has lost the hospitality at the Front Desk, timely restaurant meals, tasty happy hour drinks, and other amenities I was used to. It also no longer communicates well with its Owners. I waited an hour and five minutes for a meal. The vegetables of the day weren’t even a full serving, and the conch chowder container wasn’t full. The meal tasted good once it arrived, but it wasn’t worth the price. Every meal I ordered took over 35 minutes. I ordered from the Happy Hour menu on three of my seven days there, and the drinks were nasty. They used cheap liquor. The Front Desk gave me $4 to wash and dry a load of clothes, but there was no laundry detergent. I had no idea. Instead of helping or giving me some leeway as an Owner who didn’t know, they told me to go back to the grocery store. Housekeeping could have provided a cup of detergent for a load of clothes. A taxi would cost $15 each way, so getting detergent would have cost $40 in total, including the resort’s $4. The resort no longer has van trips to the grocery store or Port Lucaya for shopping, laundry detergent, Welcome packages, or ocean views if your owner's contract doesn't indicate them. There were no upgrades to my unit. The Front Desk seems to treat people differently, bending over backwards for those not of Color. The internet was non-existent. You’ll pay two taxes at the resort and a third when using your debit card.

We couldn’t get WiFi in the rooms, only in the lobby or outside, which wasn’t always convenient. We asked several times for towels for our family of five and got just one two days later. The air conditioning never made the room comfortable, and there was hair on the towels before we used them. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The beach is nice, but that’s about the only good thing. Staff seemed shockingly lethargic, our rooms weren’t ready on time, and the first room smelled bad, though they did change it for us. Communication was poor, and even the good service was very, very slow. The food wasn’t great either. Nobody helped us plan activities or figure out what to do around town. I’d strongly recommend staying somewhere else. There are some really nice beaches nearby.
