Villa Allamanda

Our first trip to Eluthera was a lovely one, and we stayed at Villa Allamanda. John McCardy, the owner and our host, is a local Bahamian business owner with plenty of island knowledge, which he generously shares. He also runs Eluthera Car Rentals and can deliver a car to clients at the Governors Harbour airport. We were in #302, with lovely views from both our private balcony and the public one. The villa is very close to town, where there are some very good restaurants and cute shops. The spaces were clean, spacious, and immaculate. Highly recommend.

We keep coming back to this fabulous boutique hotel, and John makes each visit feel special with a warm greeting and plenty of island suggestions. From the upper deck, the view across the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean never gets old. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with lots of thoughtful amenities. Five stars, every time.

We spent six nights at Mel's Manor, a tiny house tucked into John's lush gardens, and loved it. Everything was clean and well maintained, and we felt at home right away. There's no breakfast provided, but the little kitchenette makes it easy to prepare your own. John built this unique place near Governors Harbour and was always happy to have a nice chat. Renting a 4x4 directly from him was a big plus, since it let us explore the island at our own pace. I'd gladly spend a lot more time here.

We enjoyed the apartment and would return. The property matched its description, and John was an attentive host. The unit was pleasantly colorful, the building thoughtfully designed, and the area felt safe and secure. There were fantastic sea views, and Twin Cove beach was very close.
