Casa Del Mar

We loved the beach, the view, and having a pool, but the wind was so strong that we often had to drive somewhere else to find calmer water. Inside, the house was a mess. The AC didn't work for any of our seven nights, and the owners had known for more than three weeks before we arrived but weren't honest with us about it. The dishwasher was broken too. We kept hearing it would be fixed “tomorrow,” so we ended up washing everything by hand on vacation. The entry doors are incredibly heavy and take two hands to open or close. Communication from the owners and host was poor. I understand they didn't want to reply while we were upset about the AC, but they still needed to take responsibility. We booked through Airbnb, so renters should be cautious. If you want cool nights after hot days at the beach, I wouldn't count on getting them here.

The layout worked really well for our two families, with two private villas separated by a pool and outdoor area. Everything was in good shape, and the beach was only about 30 steps from the door and felt almost completely private. It's no more than 10 minutes from the airport. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a place for multiple families.

The house is beautiful and the view is great, but we had a lot of problems. There was no clear arrival information about getting into the villa, and it was left wide open for anyone to walk into. The pullout beds were hard as rocks. We got lukewarm water for about seven minutes before it turned cold, though the outdoor pool shower did have hot water. Flies were everywhere, and there were maggots around the trash cans behind the house. The water shut off every night, so we couldn't shower, brush our teeth, or wash our faces before bed. On the first night, the property manager said the city usually gives them notice when that happens, but the water kept going off each night. WiFi in the left house closest to the street was very weak and didn't work properly during my whole stay. The property manager also showed up unexpectedly at any time and let herself in without knocking.

We spent a week at the Bahamas Breeze house in Moss Town over Christmas, and the setting was stunning. The homes look even better in person than in the pictures. Out back, there's beautiful white sand and a gorgeous view of the blue Caribbean Sea. I wouldn't regret spending a minute here. Absolutely amazing!
