Sandelwood Studios

The studio is basic, but having access to the pool next door was great. A kettle or coffee maker and a little guide explaining breakfast, pool towels, and check-in and checkout would make the stay more convenient. William, the owner, was quite responsive. The location worked well for us, with the fish fry and plenty of restaurants nearby. The big beaches are a couple of minutes away by car, or a 10-40 minute walk. Those little touches would improve the stay.

The price feels like a rip-off for what you get. The rooms are tiny, water pressure is low, and the pool closing at 6 pm is way too early. Breakfast was misleading, with barely any food. William wasn't very accommodating or friendly. He didn't tell us what was around when we asked, and the towels we requested didn't arrive until 9 pm, when we were leaving the next day. Finding the place was difficult, and the rooms aren't labeled. There’s some potential here, but it needs major work. Bugs were in the shower, the dryer handle had a zip tie around it and couldn't be opened, and the dresser couldn't be used because it overlapped the table. The door lock kept jamming, too. The location is fine for getting downtown and to the fish fry, but I wouldn't stay again. There were lots of wild dogs in the area, and I couldn't tell if it was safe. Please take this review seriously and do better.

The room is small, but the bed is comfy, and having a stove, fridge, and silverware made it feel a bit like home. There are lots of places to eat nearby, and downtown is close enough to walk or take the bus. The beaches around here get crowded and aren't as nice as Love Beach or Cabbage Beach.

The room was a letdown. It was about the size of a small RV, the bed wasn't comfortable, and the kitchen wasn't somewhere you'd want to cook. At night, people partied, made a lot of noise, and slammed doors, so it was hard to sleep. Getting there was a hassle, too. The taxi driver didn't know where to go and had never heard of it. It's part of the Colony Inn Hotel, and when we arrived there was no one at the gate. I called three times and waited an hour before hearing that someone would be sent. William did come and was very, very nice, but I wouldn't call this a good place to stay.
