Haven Resort Paro

The cultural evening was a lovely fit after a day at the festival, and we really enjoyed it. The gardens and peaceful setting were beautiful, and the staff were incredibly attentive. I'd gladly return. A safe in the room would be useful.

The views from the spacious rooms were one of the best parts of our stay at Haven Resorts. The welcome was lovely too, with apple and cinnamon tea as soon as we arrived, and the staff stayed friendly and helpful throughout. There was plenty to choose from at meals, especially Thai food, and breakfast, lunch and dinner were all consistently good. We liked the desserts as well, and the ice cream was wonderfully thick and rich. It was a relaxing, enjoyable stay, and I'd happily come back for the service, food and atmosphere.

The mountain road up to the resort is bumpy and full of twists, so getting there takes a bit of patience. Once there, though, we had a lovely escape overlooking the Paro valley. We visited in the slow season and had the whole resort to ourselves. Staff were always attentive and smiling, the restaurant's 30-foot window looks out over the mountains, and we loved the hot stone baths and foot massages.

We had a fantastic two-day stay. The views were outstanding, and our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were kind, helpful and quick to respond, with impeccable service throughout.
