It's a peaceful place to stop, and the service is good. The town is a bit far if you need to get things, and a cab might cost around 300 to 500 nu for the return trip. Breakfast could really be improved. Management also needs to keep an eye on the amenities: our heater wasn't working, something to watch out for in the cold season if guests are to have a good stay.

The staff were friendly and hospitable, and they offered a welcome drink at reception whenever we returned. Breakfast and dinner changed daily, and the portions were usually generous and tasty. Our clean, spacious room was cozy, with two heaters already on when we arrived. You can even heat the bed. It's a peaceful place to sleep and close to the airport, so there's no need to rush in the morning. It also works well before departure or a hike to Tiger Nest. One small thing: they may call unexpectedly to confirm meal times even though those hours were explained at arrival, and on departure day they knocked early to pick up our luggage. Those calls came while I was in the middle of something and about to nap after the hike.

Wen, our Travel Director on the bus, made us very happy with the trip. The Metta Hotel and Spa Beautique was quiet and a great place to end a busy tour. We were lucky to have Lucky as resident manager, looking after us at the Pool Bar and restaurant. He was very attentive. Thank you, Lucky and the Metta Team, for taking such good care of us. A beautiful stay. Paul and Marrietta Harrington Western Australia

I only wish I'd had more days here. The service was superb, from check-in through the dining room, and it was clear that customer care mattered to the hotel. After climbing up to Tigers Nest (monastery), I was sore when I got to room 208 around 5:45 pm. I saw the paper menu of services by the bed, called the front desk at 6:05 to book a deep tissue massage, and was on the massage table at 6:45. The massage was excellent, the price reasonable, and booking was quick. The food was varied and tasty, with presentation and cleanliness both 10/10. Dining staff welcomed me as soon as I came in and checked on me several times. They kept the food line stocked. My room was very spacious, with separate sitting and work areas, a convenient place for luggage and clothes, easy-to-reach outlets, and two powerful infrared space heaters that warmed it at night.

Sonam, the spa therapist, gave me a good one-hour Swedish massage after our hike to Tiger's Nest monastery. The spa requires an appointment at least an hour ahead. They served much-needed Masala Tea as a welcome drink in the cool weather, and the food was good with a nice range of desserts. They also accepted Indian currency, and some Bhutanese books at reception were for sale. The entrance was full of flowers when we visited in mid April, with more flowers than at the botanical park itself. The resort is a little away from Paro shopping center, and you have to climb steps to get in and reach the rooms. That was tough after returning from Tiger's nest hike. Portable heaters, a hairdryer, bathrobes, and slippers were provided. The view wasn't great because buildings blocked it. They packed breakfast for our Taktsang hike, but when four more people wanted to join, they couldn't provide enough. The guides had to give up their own breakfast for the new joiners, which was disappointing. Overall, it was a nice place with good service.
