The dining experience at Hotel Evergreen 9, Phuentsholing was one of the worst I’ve had. Staff kept asking each guest whether they were veg or non-veg, and one person stood over us serving, counting chicken pieces and restricting everyone to two. Guests couldn’t even serve themselves dal or other food. It felt like our plates were being watched item by item instead of letting us eat in peace. Other guests nearby seemed upset too and were talking about the same problem. This felt insulting and uncomfortable. Hospitality should make people feel welcome, not like beggars asking for food.

The location is good, and the rest of the staff were good too, but the manager was very rude. We arrived at 8 and there was no breakfast out. They put it out late, then the manager said breakfast was over at 9am. It felt like the manager was scamming people with breakfast. There were very few options.

The food tasted very bad, and there wasn’t a good variety. The food department behaved very badly and was rude about the meal times. Please don’t come.

There are no heaters in the room, and the food was the same at breakfast and dinner every day with no variety. The kitchen manager Ramesh was extremely rude and kept giving the same explanation: a group had visited, so we had to eat what had been cooked for them. Most travel agents will suggest this hotel, so ask them for another option. Bad attitude, worse hotel. Never ever book it.

The buffet breakfast and dinner had a limited selection, but it was decent, and the food was good. Staff were polite and hospitable, service was good, and the rooms were neat and clean. It’s a decent hotel in Pheuntsholing, within walking distance of the Pedestrian Terminal.
